A personal hobby project for Hong Kong bus enthusiasts — for those who love destination signs, onboard displays, and that familiar bus stop announcement vibe.
What is Flippy?
Flippy has two parts: one for managing real destination signs, and one for simulating Hong Kong‑style bus stop announcements with voice and display animations.
It’s primarily built for collectors and enthusiasts, while also being fine tuned for the kind of real-time, on-the-move workflow you’d expect on a bus.
Data Manager (Android)
Maintain sign content and drive discommissioned destination signs. Includes extra real-time features like time/weather/news, plus some fun like Tetromino and Snake Game.
Announcement (iOS / Android)
Simulate the onboard bus stop announcement system. Use open data or build your own routes, customize animations, and let it run with GPS.
Try the web displays
If you don’t have real hardware, try out these simulators that act like a display panel.
Use Flippy to scan the QR code in the simulators to pair them with your phone. Your content will only get displayed on this browser.
